Privacy Policy for Stride
Effective Date: December 5, 2025
Binary Geek ("we," "us," or "our") operates the Stride mobile application (the "App"). This page informs you of our policies regarding the collection, use, and disclosure of personal data when you use our App and the choices you have associated with that data.
By using the App, you agree to the collection and use of information in accordance with this policy.
1. Information We Collect
To provide the specific functionality of "Walk to Earn Screen Time," Stride requires specific permissions and collects certain data types.
A. Health & Fitness Data (Steps)
- Data Collected: Step count and physical activity data.
- Source: We use the Android Activity Recognition permission (ACTIVITY_RECOGNITION).
- Purpose: This data is used solely to calculate your "Screen Time Wallet" and to rank you on the global leaderboard.
- Privacy: This data is processed locally on your device. Only your total "Lifetime Steps" score is uploaded to our secure servers (Firebase) for the leaderboard. We do not track your GPS location or physical routes.
B. App Usage Data
- Data Collected: Information about which apps you open and how long you use them.
- Source: We use the Android Usage Access permission (PACKAGE_USAGE_STATS).
- Purpose: This is required for the core functionality of the App. We monitor when you open a "Blocked App" (e.g., Instagram) to determine if you have enough "Screen Time Balance" to use it.
- Privacy: This data is processed locally on your device. We do not upload your app usage history, browsing history, or private messages to any server. It is strictly used to trigger the "Lock Screen" overlay.
C. Device & Technical Information
- Data Collected: Device type, operating system version, Advertising ID (AAID), and Firebase Installation ID.
- Purpose: Used for analytics, crash reporting, and serving Rewarded Video Ads.
